Born and raised in the colorful seaside city of Copenhagen, Danish model Shani is a decorative mix of Scandinavian, Israeli, and Moroccan lineage. Her journey in the industry began when her basketball coach, who also owned a clothing line, asked the young athlete to model the label’s newest product. After a couple of years of playing sports professionally in Europe, Shani moved to the U.S. to play college basketball and intended to pursue even higher athletic glories. She suffered a career-altering injury when she fractured her foot in her second year of school, and after an impressive recovery, she shifted her focus entirely to modeling. In her first major appearance, she walked in Dolce and Gabbana's Haute Couture show and closed their winter Ready-to-Wear show for the label’s 2022 “Miami Takeover” event. This put her on the map immediately, and she soon appeared in a campaign for Elisabetta Franchi—an experience she will remember forever as an early highlight. Most recently, Shani walked in Vogue Mexico’s show for Miami Swim Week. When she is not strutting the runway, she still loves to shoot some hoops for fun, jump into the boxing ring, and attend Pilates. She is also passionate about cooking and loves to host dinners for her friends and family.
